Discovering good movies, one bad movie at a time

Greetings, loyal AE subjects!

In April, I had the pleasure of sitting down with legendary filmmaker Uwe Boll, who returns to the big screen later this year with First Shift.

First Shift spends a single day on the streets of New York City with a seasoned cop (Gino Anthony Pesi) and his rookie partner (Kristen Renton) as they navigate the challenges of a new partnership and work against the clock to solve a terrible crime.

Dr. Boll and I discuss his transition from academic to filmmaker, how his style has changed over the years, his recent exploration of small-scale filmmaking in Hanau: Deutschland im Winter, and why he has no interest in ever working with AI actors.

If you enjoyed our chat, you can hear more of Uwe on his podcast, Uwe Boll: RAW. We hope you enjoy our conversation!
