This episode, in a burst of mid-pandemic positivity, we decide to take a look at our Top 5 Netflix Original Movies. And yes, we know that they’re mostly terrible. And yes, we struggled to find a good list, but gosh darnit we persevered and each came up with 5!
Coming to Netflix in October
October is shaping up to be a big month for Netflix original movies, between Radha Blank’s Sundance prizewinner The 40-Year-Old Version (premieres 10/9). Aaron Sorkin’s The Trial of the Chicago 7 (premieres 10/16), Ben Wheatley’s Rebecca (premieres 10/21), Glen Keane’s Over the Moon (premieres 10/23), and maybe, if the right rumors hold, David Fincher’s Mank.
Top 5 Netflix Original Movies episode: we thought there would be consensus…
As we all discovered, there aren’t a lot of keepers in the Netflix pond and because of this, we anticipated overlap. As it turns out, we never cease to horrify each other with our differing tastes. But we swear that of the collective 15 movies we discuss, at least 7 of them are really great. We hope you enjoy!
1. The Other Side of the Wind
5. The Perfection
3. Beasts of No Nation
1. I Don’t Feel at Home in this World Anymore
5. Fundamentals of Caring
1. Marriage Story
