We’re full steam into 2018 here at Alternate Ending. Hopes are high that this new year is going to bring better and brighter days. While we’re on that subject of better and brighter, we have some big plans for AE this year, some of which we’ve already put into place.
What’s New:
- Speedy site – The website should be clipping along a bit faster – keep us posted if that changes!
- All reviews have been updated (that didn’t take long) – Reviews should match the images and associated details. For those of you who have so helpfully been sending us errors, noooow is the time to send us feedback.
- Comment Likes! – I know, I know… we’re not trying to be FB – but we all voted: I wanted a heart, Rob wanted a fist bump emoji, Tim wanted nothing (because he said his opinion is the only one that matters, or something like that). So, we landed on the ole’ thumbs up. Go out there and look back through some of the insightful comments and personal movie reviews that readers have left in the comments and give them some love! We also toyed with the idea of including a thumbs-down, but decided against it because nobodies got time for bringin’ people down around here (except the d-bags that commented on Tim’s ‘Sing’ review. Tim said I wasn’t allowed to respond…but that doesn’t mean you can’t…)
- “Top Picks” being less worthless – the original algorithm for the Top Picks section of our website was designed to refresh with the most recently watched movies with the highest ranking. But, because some of us don’t watch enough good movies our picks were going to perpetually show ‘Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade,’ which is as it should be, but I digress. That section of the site will be refreshed on a monthly basis with the 5 favorite movies we’ve seen in the last month that are either new to theaters or streaming.

The Podcast:
- Season 3, Episode 1 will be airing Monday, January 29th – Top 5 Movies of 2017. We’re all excited to be getting back to sharing our perspectives and hearing yours.
- Expect to see some new variety in our segments – what would you like to hear about?
- For Patreon subscribers we’ll be starting weekly Live Q&A sessions – we’re all mildly freaked out about how that’s going to go down, so thanks for rolling with us.
