Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole

It has been my custom to wait for the first of the new year to publish my list of the top 10 movies of the year and all sorts of other year-that-was tidbits; I know the thing to do is have such a list ready in mid-December, but I’m stubborn and old-fashioned, and I don’t like to eulogise the year while it’s still alive.

Also, I like to make sure that I see everything that I need to, so my lists aren’t half-assed and incomplete, and here we come to the issue. There are two movies that, despite all my tricks, I haven’t been able to scrounge up; both of them have I think an excellent chance of being extremely high up on my list; both of them open in Chicago on January 14th, and not an hour earlier.* Which means that I won’t be able to finish my list until, at the earliest, January 16th, and right now that’s the day I plan on publishing it (it’s also part of the reason why my top 115 of all time lists began after December 28, instead of ending on December 28 like I planned; that, and a brutally busy Christmas week).

Thanks for you patience; in the meantime, here’s a sneak preview: Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole did not make the cut.
