The Future of TV Reviewing at Alternate Ending

Over the summer, I finally agreed to try my hand at something that people have been asking me about, on and off, for over a decade: reviews of classic television. Now, I’m just only one episode away from having reviewed the first season of The X-Files, and I’ve been enjoying the very different challenge, after all these years of reviewing standalone movies. Plus, it’s been tremendously gratifying to see the influx of so many new Patreon subscribers at our TV-review tier, and you all have my deep and sincere thanks.

So once The X-Files S1 wraps up – things got a bit off track, but I’ve rallied as much as I can, and I’m going to end up four weeks to the day behind schedule, for which I deeply apologize to all of our Patreons – I certainly want to keep this going. The question is, keep it going how? Revisiting my ’90s nerd adolescence has been satisfying, but a little change of pace might be satisfying as well. Plus, I do want to keep in mind readers who might be looking for something else than paranoid sci-fi horror.

In short: I’m taking suggestions. And once I’ve taken suggestions, I’ll be putting them into a poll, and letting that poll guide my destiny. I have some thoughts of my own, and I’ve given them below, but please offer up your own ideas for about television you might like to see show up here on Alternate Ending, especially if you haven’t been reading the X-Files reviews, and might be enticed by something else. Drop some ideas in comments here, and on Friday of this week, I’ll pick the ten suggestions I’m most interested in writing about, and I’ll put them in a poll. Whatever wins in that poll will see its first reviews crop up on Friday, December 16.

Here are some of the things I’m already considering as possibilities:
