Well, it’s me again – being tasked with bringing the next installment of Alternate Ending’s tech update. We’ve heard your comments and are trying to get to as many things as we can, to improve your experience.
Side-note: this is apparently the best/worst few weeks of Tim’s educational career. As he explained it to me, “I have to get in front of some really scary people on a panel and defend my knowledge for hours and then they tell me my value in life.” Not an exact quote, but something close to that. He completes the worst of it on April 29th, so make sure to send him some love!
Things we’ve done:
– Search functionality added to mobile devices
– We’ve added toggle functionality so that you can do “next review – previous review” for you heavy readers.
– Removing the synopsis bar when there is a full-review available for a flick
– Reviews of movies that start with an “a,” “an” or “the” are now excluded when sorting
– Who authored each post is more clearly displayed under the post (just in case you read one of my posts were concerned that Tim had regressed to a 10th grade composition level)
– We made an update so that when we add a new movie (when we link other content), but it doesn’t have a full review it won’t show up in your KSS feed (how deflating to see Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade and then it’s empty)
– Maybe most importantly, we hope the site is FASTER! We did some finagling and it seems the load times are less of an issue
Things that are coming:
– Still, still, still working on going through old reviews and making sure that titles are matching. We’re trying to target that being done in the Summer. Apologies if that continues to be a pain and you’ve just stopped mentioning it to be nice
We love all the feedback that you bring, with a slight preference towards the “I love this siiiiiiiiite!!!” to the “something is broken,” but nevertheless, we appreciate it all!
