A couple of announcements for y’all:
First, today would have been the 69th birthday of director Tony Scott, who died last August. To honor his memory, I’m kicking off an abbreviated retrospective of all the feature films he directed that I haven’t previously reviewed, between now and 12 August, the anniversary of his death.
Second, Antagony & Ecastasy will be spending this summer at the beach. I’d already been thinking about doing this, and Annette Funicello’s death this spring locked it in: between today and Labor Day, we’ll be revisiting the seven films of the AIP Beach Party series from the 1960s.
Both of these series will be kicking off later today.
