You have, undoubtedly, heard that there’s an Oscars happening next weekend. And for no special reason beyond “why not?” I’m going to review an old Best Picture winner as part of my super-informal mission to, at some point, end up with a piece on each and every winner somewhere on this blog.
Also for no special reason beyond “why not?” I decided to make it a fun, interactive thingy, and instead of just picking a film on my own, I’d lay it open to a vote. And so I’ve picked one film per decade, spanning a whole gamut of genres and quality, and thrown a poll up on the sidebar. Go, direct my fate!
