Having in short order wrapped up Summer of Blood ’11, the second season of Blockbuster History and a grueling Sergio Leone retrospective (God, why are the man’s films so damn long?), I’m taking a fiver this weekend, but come Monday, the second winner of my June poll gets his due. It’s time for our John Hughes retrospective, and since the man’s importance is as much the result of his writing as his directing, I’m going to start things off with his screenwriting debut, a faintly terrible effort to recapture the magic of Animal House in the worst way possible. It’ll be fun!
