Nine

In light of the upcoming film musical Nine, I’ve embarked on a most exciting collaboration with talented theater-blogger Zev Valancy of On Chicago Theatre. Since he doesn’t really know a whole lot about (the 1963 Federico Fellini movie on which the stage musical was based), and I don’t know hardly anything about Nine (the 1982 Maury Yeston musical upon which the new movie is based), we’ve decided to join forces and take a look at the way that the basic material – Italian filmmaker with creative block remembers his lifetime of women troubles – has evolved as it has moved from one medium to another.

The first entry, a two-part consideration of Fellini’s movie, is up right now at Zev’s place: go here, then here.
