Last year around this time, I introduced a new series that I, for one, had a lot of fun with: Blockbuster History, in which every week we took a gander at a classic, or not-so-classic movie that was in some way a forerunner to one of the big new releases of that weekend. I’m pleased to say that this series will be beginning again tomorrow, when I celebrate the release of Thor by considering a much, much older film that turned classical mythology into pop culture, and was, impossibly, even more homoerotic about it.
