AND NOW, THE STORY OF A WEALTHY FAMILY WHO LOST EVERYTHING

If you care about anything at all, you probably know that in May of 2013 – the official date is still, frustratingly, unannounced – Netflix will premiere 14 new episodes of the long-dormant Arrested Development, the best television show in the history of ever.

It’s more than a bit afield of this blog’s mission statement, but I couldn’t let that kind of momentous, life-affirming moment go unnoticed, and since I’ve been looking around for an excuse to re-watch the show for a months, I thought, why the hell not just do a damn blog thing about it?

And that is why, starting this Friday, 1 February, this blog is going to host a marathon of all 53 episodes of the show (that is to say: not full-on reviews, just some notes that came to me when I watched it, and then we can all chat about it in the comments), on one every-other-day schedule At that rate, and condensing some two-part episodes, things will wrap up on 8 May, if my math works out.

It will be a fun, sexy time for us all.

FIRST UP
1 February: “Pilot” / “Extended Pilot”
3 February: “Top Banana”
5 February: “Bringing Up Buster”
